Berlin, 27/10/2017 On the last day of a two-week immersive forum, 25 researchers were presented with the Green Talents award by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Kamila Pope, author of Understanding Planned Obsolescence: Unsustainability through Production, Consumption and Waste Generation, was lauded for her ‘new perspective on sustainability and the willingness to go beyond traditional environmentalism to find solutions for the under-reported issue of planned obsolescence’.

Currently on its ninth instalment, the Green Talents - International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development provides a place for researchers from around the world to network and discuss ‘solutions to the pressing questions of our time’. With this prestigious programme, the BMBF seeks to provide an intersection of young researchers in the environmental and sustainability fields to ‘promote the cultural plurality and creativity which encourage the development of global solutions’.
