Q: My academic account and inspection copy requests were approved but I haven't received access instructions to my ebook.
A: Once your requests have been approved, you will receive an email confirmation from Kogan Page (you may need to check your BULK/SPAM or JUNK mail folder). Your electronic inspection copy will also be available in your Kogan Page account within the "My ebooks" tab.
Q: I've already adopted a Kogan Page book as my main textbook. How can I access a desk copy?
A: Thank you for choosing a Kogan Page title for your course! We are happy to provide a complimentary desk copy once you confirm the text has been adopted for a course of 10 or more students and after your provide some details about the course. Please email us if you're adopting a textbook and would like a complimentary desk copy.
A desk copy and a teaching copy are the same thing, typically meaning that you are requiring your students or your department/library to purchase copies of the book. If this isn't the case and you are not adopting the book as a core textbook/primary reading, but you still want a print copy, then you can buy a copy using your academic discount.
Q. Are inspection copies, evaluation copies and desk copies the same thing?
A. No. Inspection and evaluation copies are used when deciding to adopt a text for a course. A desk copy will be provided free of charge to the instructor upon proven adoption.
Q. Is my inspection copy completely free of charge?
A. Yes. We offer inspection copies as a free service to verified instructors who are teaching or preparing for classes with a minimum of 10 students and have provided feedback after receiving their copy.
Q. Are inspection copies available for every book?
A. No. We offer inspection copies for books that are likely to be used for teaching. If you do not see the ‘Inspection Copy’ button under the book’s cover image, then the title is not available for inspection. If you believe that the book is highly likely to be used for your course, then please contact us with the full title and ISBN.
Q. Where can I find the supporting resources for my title?
A. Not all books have supporting resources. When they are available, supporting resources are located on the book's product page. If the book does have supporting resources, then you will see a ‘Supporting resources’ tab on the book’s product page. You will be redirected to fill out a form requesting your name and affiliation. If the ‘Supporting resources’ tab does not appear, then there are no supporting materials for that particular book.
Q. My inspection copy hasn’t arrived!
A. We are unable to send inspection copies before the date of publication. When a book is already published, you will receive your electronic inspection copy within 10 minutes of your request. You may need to check your email account's bulk or junk mail folder. If the book has not yet published, then you can expect to receive it after publication.

Inspection/Evaluation copies are not available for every title. We reserve the right to refuse a request for an inspection copy. You must teach 10 or more students in your course to qualify for a copy. Kogan Page reserves the right to change the format (print/ebook) of the book you receive. For desk copies, Kogan Page will ship to a verified college or university address unless the campus is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. If online feedback is not provided within 30 days, Kogan Page reserves the right to invoice you or deny further requests for inspection copies. By requesting a complimentary inspection copy, you are agreeing for Kogan Page to contact you to obtain feedback and confirmation that you will be using the book, to recommend similar titles and to provide additional information about our products.
**Fair Use Policy
We ask that you only use the inspection copy service for books that, based on the product descriptions and tables of contents, you genuinely think could be either useful recommended reading or a potential core text on your course. If your interest in the book is for personal use, then please buy a copy using the academic discount code we email you when we activate your academic account.
