Kogan Page Book Wins Prix de Associations
6th December 2016 - The Lean Supply Chain: Managing the challenge at Tesco
Kogan Page book wins Prix de Associations
For the second year in a row a Kogan Page book, The Lean Supply Chain, takes home the top supply chain award
Les Plumes de Achats, a prize ceremony organized by four leading supply chain associations and HEC Business School, was held on 5 December 2016 in Paris to announce the winner of the Prix de Associations. This year, the prize went to The Lean Supply Chain by Barry Evans and Robert Mason.
The book was competing against 29 other books for the title of best purchasing and supply chain publication of 2016 as considered by the four awarding bodies.
The Lean Supply Chain shows how Tesco have built world-leading retail and supply chain operations that aim, first, to be effective in delivering what customers want and, second, efficient in performance and cost metrics. The book examines how Tesco has used lean thinking, loyalty and simplicity to achieve its dominant position.
'We’re delighted to have one of our titles win this prestigious award a second time,' Helen Kogan, Managing Director, Kogan Page, said. 'To be recognized by these leading associations shows the calibre of our logistics titles.’
Barry Evans’ early career involved a variety of roles in Logistics/Distribution with Watney Mann, Rank Hovis McDougall and Royal Mail, followed by roles in Tesco plc. He joined the Lean Enterprise Research Centre at Cardiff Business School in the UK as a Senior Research Associate.
Robert Mason is a senior lecturer in Logistics and Operations Management section (LOM) at Cardiff Business School in the UK and has led many business research projects with Tesco as a partner.
